A: In our discovery call, I will determine if what you are looking for is a good match with my skills. I am very selective on who I agree to coach or mentor. If we decide to work together, it will be from a place of confidence in each of us that our pairing is a good fit.

Coaching is when I offer insights and guidance on specific challenges you want to address or shift in your personal or professional life. Think of it as me helping you to become the best version of yourself. Mentoring is when you have a specific project that you believe would benefit from my life experience and professional skills. Think of it as a mastermind session. We might collaborate on policy development, advocacy campaigns, strategic or tactical questions for leading your organization, your company, or your community.

No one session is the same. This is a very alive and organic process. I meet you where you are and help you find your path to where you want to be. My vision and my voice are infused with clarity, strength, and integrity. I help you connect to yours. I combine deep listening, active presence, embodied awareness, and a set of intuitive skills and wisdom practices that result in each session helping you to uncover various “a-ha” moments regarding your goal for our work together.

For 90 minutes, you are my only priority. We talk on the phone so I can intensely listen to you without the visual distraction that comes from a video conference. Our sessions are confidential. I do take notes but they are shared only with you and are otherwise locked away.

You will experience growth opportunities in each of our sessions. Ideally, we will work together for at least four sessions to build momentum toward your goals. Many clients choose to keep the work ongoing for several months because of the progress we make together. Some clients meet with me weekly, some every-other-week. We find a rhythm that is best for you.

This is a mastermind session. After our discovery call, I have a sense of the project on which you would like advice and counsel. I will do preliminary work to further familiarize myself on your topic of engagement prior to our first session. In each of our sessions, I am available to answer your questions and serve as a sounding board. I will probe your project with my own inquiry and offer insights. I am a quick learner and uniquely skilled at asking poignant questions that reveal the path for success on a project.

You are my only priority during the hours we work together. We meet by videoconference or phone, depending on your preference. These sessions are most productive when you have also done advance preparations and come ready to ask questions.

That will depend on the project and your goals. In the discovery call, I can give you a sense of how many sessions it would take to meet your objectives. Depending on the project, it might make sense to negotiate a short-term project rate rather than a series of individual sessions.

We establish a time to talk that is convenient for both of our calendars. It can be early morning before work, evenings after work, weekends, or even during the day if your schedule is flexible.

Yes. I have worked with companies to coach their entire teams around a shared goal. I have worked with owners of companies to rebrand their mission. I have mentored organizations on their advocacy goals and tactics. Come to me with any creative proposal on how to blend our skills together and as long as it is a good fit and my time is valued and compensated, we can make most arrangements work.

I am often asked to share insights about bridging division in our polarized country and to share my experiences as a legislator and candidate who successfully built bipartisan governing coalitions and voting blocks. I have a lot of insights about effective legislating and how to run successful advocacy campaigns. I am also tapped for my policy expertise in health care, environment, and civil rights and have used that experience to inform keynote speeches, guide dialogue in workshops, or instruct in classrooms. Cultivating deeper spiritual practices, understanding nature’s wisdom, and restoring the heart of humanity are also topics that I frequently visit as I address the need to hold paradox and identify and transcend limiting beliefs.

Yes. Though I consider engagements that value my time and skills a priority. This has been an adjustment for me, as I have given free public speeches for thirty years of my career. But it has also been super fun because I find that the time I spend on paid speaking engagements affords me greater and deeper insights that come from a balanced energetic exchange.
